- Since 2009 been an advocate for change
- Pioneered the idea to contact college and high school football teams and coaches to leverage their leadership positions to end the use of the R-word on and off the field to further efforts “Stop the R-Word, a national Special Olympics campaign that seeks to eliminate the use of the R-word, "Retard" or "Retarded"
- Partnered with college football coaches such as Bill Snyder at Kansas State, June Jones at SMU and Dan McCarney at UNT to end the use of the R-word
- Convinced over 3,000 students, football players and Coaches to take the pledge through speaking engagements, media stories, public service announcements and PSA that I was featured in.
- Recognized with Special Olympics Texas 2012 Outreach Award April 2013
- Developed and pitched R-word shoe prototype to Blake Mycoskie, Founder of TOM'S Shoes and Tim Shriver, Chairman & CEO Special Olympics. R-word shoe is presently under consideration for production with proceeds of each sale to benefit Special Olympics
- Recorded public service announcement for national organization
